Jackie V. Hernandez, SVP of Global Partnership Founding member of Plug and Play, the largest global open innovation platform and the most active early-stage investors in Silicon Valley. In this role, Jackie has been instrumental in building and cultivating an extraordinary ecosystem that has expanded to more than 25 cities across the world and invested in over 1000 high-tech startups like PayPal, Lending Club, Dropbox, and a number of other Silicon Valley Icons. Under Jackie’s leadership, this unique environment has enabled partnerships with over 400 Fortune-1000 corporations to provide them with access to disruptive global technologies from strategically aligned, startups to drive their digital transformation and boost cultural transformation. With a commitment to excellence in customer success and a keen eye for entrepreneurs, Jackie is constantly driving revenues forward by spotting the right companies that will become the next innovation giants. Currently she is focused in corporate innovation, evaluating and bringing to life upcoming international locations. Before Plug and Play, Ms. Hernandez helped the Amidi Group bring forth three other operations in Southern California that service the entertainment industry. While in Mexico, Jackie cut her teeth in supply chain and logistics developing the first nationwide bulk distribution system for plastic raw materials with Chemtex International, linking cross-border, multimodal truck-rail routes. Under her tenure the company grew 10-fold to what is now one of the largest food and packaging plastics distribution providers in Mexico, Europe and South-East Asia. Prior to Chemtex, Jackie worked in international procurement in the automotive industry, for Bujias Champion de Mexico (acquired by Cooper Industries), where she managed large appropriations of commodity metals and other raw materials. Ms. Hernandez graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a major in chemistry and specialty in immunology. Her passion for innovation and education has taken her to share her startup expertise in several international forums like TEDx, Stanford University, ClimateKIC Europe, and many other international universities and incubators.
